Program:
Breakfast will be served every day from 7:45 to 8:10 a.m. in the elementary
school cafeteria for students in kindergarten through high school.
Blended Preschool and Jr. Kindergarten students are served breakfast at 8:30
a.m. Students walking to school or brought by their parents/guardians
will enter through the courtyard to the cafeteria. Bus students will
enter through the doors of the Fine Arts Center. Kindergarten Milk
Break:
Students may elect to participate in a daily milk break during snack
time. The money for this program is collected by semester ($26.40).
This milk break program is not covered by the Federal/State Free/Reduced meal
program. Lunch Account Guidelines:
Students
can choose to purchase a hot meal or bring a cold lunch. A student is
also allowed to bring items (not pop) to supplement the hot lunch/breakfast
program if they so desire. Students in the fifth grade and above will be
allowed to purchase items a la carte. The USDA requires that schools
provide milk with each hot lunch. Milk can also be purchased for cold
lunches at $.30 per carton. Free/ reduced students will be charged
regular price for items purchased separately.
In the event that the posted meal on the menu is unavailable, a substituted
meal will be provided that meets the Federal and State guidelines for the
School Lunch program.
It is preferred to send one check for the family meal account and to establish
a regular schedule for depositing money into the meal account. A check to
be deposited into the meal account can be sent with your child to be given to
the teacher any morning. When the amount of money in the account gets
below $5.00, a reminder will be sent to the established e-mail account.
If an account becomes more than $30 in arrears per family, $20.00 for a
single elementary student, $15.00 for a single junior high student, $10.00 for
a single high school student, the student will be provided a peanut butter and
jelly sandwich and milk, and they will not be offered the full lunch. For
questions about your child’s account, contact the Meal Accounts Supervisor at
815-369-3149. Lunches
