Grading

• The schedule will have all events listed for the year. 
• You will find the worth of each event
• You will be able to find out the possible number of events per grading period
• You should be able to find out how much weight an event will carry   
• Now you know what to expect of your grade when you are present and absent.

Absences

• Band/Guard is all about performance
• A note must come to me before the absence!
• All absences are worth 0 points
• Work is never an excused absence
• Religious excused absences must be discussed before the event
• Make-up work can be assigned when appropriate

Lessons

Band members (horns and percussion) must take a semi-private lesson with staff during 1st quarter.  This lesson will be worth points.  If you don’t take a lesson, you will not receive the points.  You sign-up for a lesson by finding the lesson appointment book found by Mr. Stich's office (during first quarter only).  The lesson is necessary to prepare for music of the fall and for concert band chair tryouts.  Many lesson slots are lost early in the quarter; plan early and sign-up early.

Calendar

Use the band/guard schedule, the school calendar, and your personal calendars and triangulate your entire life.  Everyone has a busy life.  Help eliminate stress by being more organized with dates and conflicts.
